LAGCOE 2017 at The Energy Innovators
Tent, with a culminating Shark Tank style

pitch event from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on
Thursday, Oct. 26. The best presentation

New for LAGCOE 2017, the Louisiana
Energy Research & Development Forum
will present a global view of the state of
the art for energy technology research
and development efforts using a formal
presentation format. Within the forum,
all forms of energy will be of interest to
attendees. Participants will come from
universities, industry organizations, the
investment sector and government entities.
The forum will feature more than 50
technical presentations from energy experts
from all over the globe.
The VERTECH Green Energy Conference will be embedded within the alternative energy component of the
Louisiana Energy Research & Development Forum on Oct. 25 and 26. VERTECH
is an initiative of the SESAME Network,
which is an international association of
medium-sized cities developing local and
regional government exchanges and business opportunities. With their key players
in economic, industrial and institutional
sectors, these cities share their sustainability visions, ideas and projects.
On Thursday, Oct. 26, the LAGCOE
Student Paper Competition will allow students to showcase their latest research projects to a panel of judges. Anyone interested
in hearing the students present their findings
is welcome to attend this session.
Career Center
The Career Center at LAGCOE 2017
will be open from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on
Thursday, Oct. 26, in the Cajundome.
Hiring companies will have the opportunity
to meet potential new employees directly
from their exhibit spaces. Supporting energy professionals in transition, this event
also offers career development sessions
to aid professionals as they work to keep
skills fresh and seek employment. Sessions
will cover topics such as resume building
and interview techniques. In addition to
the sessions, professionals will be reviewing
resumes free of charge at the event for all
job seekers interested in this service.
