CGG's Updated Software Speeds Geoscience Work
PARIS-CGG GeoSoftware has unveiled new releases across its entire geoscience portfolio, which the company
says support increasingly integrated workflows from geology and geophysics to
reservoir engineering. For example, CGG
reports new "load-once-use-it-everywhere"
capability enables Jason users to operate
on HampsonRussel seismic stories and
vice versa without duplicating, moving
or reloading seismic volumes.
Jason 9.7.1 has enhanced reservoir
characterization capabilities from integrating a rock physics template in cross
plots and interpretation, as well as from
adding functionality for Bayesian facies
classification and inversion analysis in
facies and fluids probabilities, CGG
outlines. The company says Jason's advanced geostatistical reservoir characterization can extract the full value from
seismic data, whether they are 4-D,
multicomponent, depth or wide-azimuth.
In addition, CGG continues:
* HampsonRussell 10.3, its geophysical interpretation and analysis soft-

ware, loads and processes huge datasets
much faster and reduces the iterations
needed for pre-stack inversion to dramatically reduce turnaround times.
* PowerLog 9.7.1, CGG's petrophysical solution for well log analysis,
offers a stronger well selector, better
data management and more customizable
workflows.
* The InsightEarth 3.4 3-D visualization and interpretation tool streams
large seismic volumes so users can work
on large datasets, and improves the
quality and tightness of fault images
from automated fault extraction.
* VelPro 9.7.1, CGG's post-stack
velocity modeling application, now
offers depth-to-depth calibration, four
major modeling workflows in one solution, and post-stack depth migration.
* EarthModel 9.7.1, a tool for rapidly
building geological models, provides a
new grid format and more export formats
for 3-D properties to ease connections
to fracture simulation workflows.

estimated quart volumes and brittleness
derived from amplitude-versus-offset inversion and Bayesian facies analysis to
identify the most productive areas for development (marked in green).

MineralSoft Gets Funding To Ease Interest Ownership
HOUSTON-MineralSoft reports it has
completed its Series A funding round led
by Cottonwood Venture Partners (CVP),
which it describes as a leading digital oil
field technology investor based in Houston.
Earlier investors Blue Bear Capital and
Y Combinator also participated in the
funding round.
MineralSoft's cloud-based software
platform helps mineral, royalty, and nonoperated working interest owners and investors manage their assets, says Gabe
Wilcox, MineralSoft's chief executive officer.
"Fifty percent or more of the value
produced by a well may be distributed to
nonoperating interest owners, yet the vast
majority of tools on the market were de-

signed with the operator in mind," he observes. "We built our technology platform

HOUSTON-RigNet Inc. has acquired
Intelie, which the company says developed
a technology platform for real-time predictive analytics, and is an award-winning,
early pioneer in real-time machine learning
and planning optimization.
Acquiring Intelie accelerates RigNet's
strategy to move up the network stack
and furthers development of valuable enterprise applications powered by highly
differentiated data analysis, RigNet says.
The company indicates Intelie's capabilities
and market position will help it differentiate
its managed communications services.

UTEC Helps Giant FPSO
Operate More Efficiently
ABERDEEN, SCOTLAND-UTEC, a
global survey company in subsea services
group Acteon, reports it has delivered a
bespoke virtual asset management tool
to an offshore operator in eastern Canada
to allow the operator to access its floating
production, storage and offloading vessel
from a remote desktop.
The field, located 217 miles southeast
of Newfoundland and Labrador, contains
one of the largest FPSO vessels ever
built, UTEC mentions. At 950 feet long,
130 feet wide and 18 stories high, the
company notes the FPSO is comparable
to three football fields laid end to end.
UTEC says its Web-based iSite tool
gives the operator's supply chain the ability
to tour the FPSO with 360-degree visualization and accurate on-screen measurements. The company adds that the tool
provides a central repository for drawings,
3-D models, photos and reports.
iSite can be used for project planning,
risk management, and safety and site inductions, UTEC says. Because it reduces
the number of offshore visits, the company
predicts iSite will cut costs, increase productivity and mitigate operational risk.
