New Device From Archer Finds Tiny Casing Leaks
HOUSTON-Well integrity specialist
Archer has launched the VIVID™
acoustic listening platform, which it describes as a highly sensitive acoustic
technology that detects, investigates and
locates leaks in real-time, verifies cement
barrier seals and characterizes downhole
events with unparalleled precision.
The platform consists of full-spectrum
acoustic sensors that measure the broadest
frequency bandwidth and amplitude of
acoustic energy with such sensitivity that
they can locate previously indiscernible
low-energy leaks, Archer says. The company predicts VIVID will play a key role
in casing and completion evaluation, cement performance evaluation and turbulent

flow analysis.

HOUSTON-To recognize his efforts

improves safety by taking workers out of

named Rick Shock of Atlas Oil a 2018
industry leader for the Texas region.
Oil & Gas Awards says it recognizes
outstanding achievements and commitments

for the Texas Oil & Gas Awards.
Another Texas award recipient is Rhett

firm, won the general industry service
award. Oil & Gas Awards adds that Xedia
Process Solutions won its new technology
development award for its modified nutshell
media technology, a replacement for walnut
shells used in water filters to improve
flow capacity and oil removal.

of the year awards for specific categories,
including Eagle Pipe LLC (industry supplier), Blackline Safety (manufacturer),
Williams (midstream company), Hearn

business will be spun off under the name
Apergy. Apergy will be a publically traded
company headquartered in The Woodlands,
Tx.

Dover Energy Automation and US Synthetic. Dover says the new company will
continue to serve the oil and natural gas
industry with a full range of production
equipment and solutions, wellsite productivity software and industrial Internet of

Warburg Pincus Backs
Permian Basin Startup
MIDLAND-Ridge Runner Resources
LLC, a new exploration, drilling and production company focused on the Delaware
Basin, reports it has received a line of
equity financing of up to $300 million
from funds affiliated with Warburg Pincus.
Ridge Runner says it intends to pursue
partnerships with operators as well as to
acquire and develop meaningful acreage
positions across the Delaware Basin. The
company is led by Chief Executive Officer
Scott Germann, an Exxon-trained geologist
with 20 years of financial and operational
experience in the Permian Basin. Most
recently, Germann served as president of
BC Operating, where he led the company's
exploration, development and production
efforts in the Delaware Basin until its
sale to Marathon Oil for $1.1 billion in
June 2017.
David Habachy, managing director for
Warburg Pincus, says, "Germann and his
team have deep and expansive knowledge
and operational expertise spanning the
Permian Basin, and important relationships
with the legacy players in the region. We
