Twin Disc Inc. Celebrates
Centennial With Events
RACINE, WI.-Twin Disc Inc., which
manufactures power transmission technology for marine and land-based applications, is preparing a series of local, national and international events to mark
its 100th anniversary.
Twin Disc started in Racine in 1918
with its introduction of the twin disc
farm tractor clutch, the company says.
Today, the company notes, it sells products
to the pleasure craft, commercial and
military marine markets, as well as the
energy and natural resources, government
and industrial markets.
On the local level, the company says
it will participate in Racine events such
as the Independence Day parade and
Lighthouse Run. Twin Disc also will host
an international distributor meeting at its
corporate headquarters, while also marking
the anniversary with events and promotions
in Belgium, Italy, Singapore, India and
Australia.
"This anniversary is a chance for us
to reflect on the inventiveness of the
company's founders and my predecessors,
as well as the resilience and willingness
to adapt that has allowed Twin Disc to
flourish for a century," says John H.

McDermott, CB&I Form
Integrated Tech Provider
HOUSTON-McDermott International
Inc. has completed its combination with
Chicago Bridge & Iron (CB&I) Company
NV, creating what it calls a fully integrated provider of technology, engineering and construction solutions for the
energy industry.
"The combination of McDermott and
CB&I brings together a global upstream
and subsea engineering, procurement and
construction company with an established
downstream provider of industry-leading
petrochemical, refining, power, gasification
and gas processing technologies and solutions-creating a company that spans
the entire value chain from concept to
commissioning," says David Dickson,
president and chief executive officer of
McDermott.
In accordance with terms of the combination agreement, CB&I shareholders will
receive 0.82407 shares of McDermott stock
for each share of CB&I stock tendered. r

Pulsafeeder Pump Actuator Controls Chemical Dosage
ROCHESTER, N.Y.-To bring new
levels of precision and remote control to
its PulsaPro family of diaphragm pumps
for dosing chemicals, Pulsafeeder reports
it has introduced the XAE actuator.
The API-compliant actuator is an
electromechanical servo controller that
allows users to control the pumps and
adjust flow rates remotely, Pulsafeeder
describes, adding that alarm relays alert
users to unintended changes in flow
rates, including stop conditions. The
fault-tolerant and self-recovering XAE

is designed for reliability and minimal
maintenance, with metal gearing and
an explosion-proof enclosure. It is easy
to calibrate and use, the company says.
"In the past, we have provided thirdparty valve actuators, but after soliciting
customer and distributor feedback, we
have designed and built a true metering
pump actuator that provides a better fit
and tighter controls for the PulsaPro
pump series," says Erik Van Bork, Pulsafeeder's manager of controls engineering. "The XAE is manufactured in
the same plant as the PulsaPro pumps.
This shortens delivery times, and we
provide a common warranty for both
products that further simplifies things
for our customers."

Nissan Chemical America Expands nanoActiv® Plant
PASADENA, TX.-Nissan Chemical
America Corp. announces it is spending
$1.4 million to expand its Pasadena production facility to meet growing demand
for nanoActiv® products.
These products include nanoActiv HRT,
which the company describes as a well
additive treatment mechanically powered
by highly surface-modified nanoparticles.
These nanoparticles penetrate deep into
the natural fracture network and persist
to deliver sustained increases in oil and
gas production, NCA reports.
"The capital expansion will add storage

capacity for a rapidly growing business,
while upgraded instrumentation and automation will serve to ensure the highest
levels of quality in our products," says
Robert Griffith, the facility's vice president
and general manager.
NCA President William Smith adds,
"The expansion enhances our commitment to reliably serving customers in
the Permian Basin, while expanding our
abilities to produce new products in the
nanoActiv series."

Milestone Growing Network Of Waste Disposal Facilities
HOUSTON-In response to increased
drilling activity, Milestone Environmental
Services announces plans to build several
waste treatment and disposal facilities in
the Permian Basin region over the next
two years.
In 2018, Milestone says, it will add
facilities near Orla, Tx., and Stanton, Tx.
The Orla site is in Reeves County on FM
Road 652 and will serve the northern
Delaware Basin, while the Stanton facility
is on State Highway 137 and will serve
the Central Midland Basin. Milestone
says it expects the Orla facility to open
in July and the Stanton facility to open in

August, and notes that it already operates
Permian Basin facilities near Pecos, Tx.,
and South Midland.
"By opening a facility near drilling
activity, we save our customers time and
money," says Vice President of Sales
Jesse Post. "This also provides a benefit
to the community and the environment."
