service providers as up to date as possible
on their scheduled drilling and development activities. "Communication is key,"
he stresses. "The more we know about
our customers' plans and production forecasts, the easier it is to have equipment
and labor ready when they need it."
To ensure that it understands customers' needs, Morgan says TransTex
touches base with clients regularly. "This
frequent communication not only allows
us to manage lead times, but also gives
us the information we need to right-size
equipment for their application," he remarks.
To simplify installation and mobility,

Morgan says most of TransTex's equipment is built using modular, skid-mounted
components. "For example, we recently
put in an amine treater near Encinal, Tx.,
treating upwards of 150 MMcf/d of gas.
It was completely skid-mounted, so all
we had to do on location was install the
interconnecting pipe and run electricity.
That cut our services time in half."
The modular, skid-based approach
also speeds demobilization and redeployment if the equipment needs to moved.
All of these developments point toward
an industry that is focused on increased
efficiencies, greater mobility and in-depth
planning," Morgan concludes.

Williams, Brazos Combine In Delaware Basin Venture
Williams and Brazos Midstream have
announced a joint venture through which
Williams will contribute its Delaware
Basin assets in exchange for a 15 percent
position in the JV. The contribution of
Williams' assets, the companies note,
will expand the footprint of Brazos'
system while the combined capabilities
of the JV will provide customers with an
enhanced suite of services.
Brazos, which retains an 85 percent
ownership in the JV, says it will operate
725 miles of gas gathering pipelines, 260
million cubic feet a day of natural gas processing, 75 miles of crude oil gathering
pipelines and 75,000 barrels of oil storage,
located across Reeves, Loving, Ward, Winkler, Pecos and Culberson counties in Texas.
In addition, Brazos says it is nearing
completion on constructing the 200
MMcf/d Comanche III natural gas processing plant, which will bring the JV's
total operated processing capacity to 460

MMcf/d.
"This joint venture increases our scale
in the Delaware Basin, including a much
larger footprint, new processing capabilities, and greater exposure to an impressive
customer base," enthuses Chad Zamarin,
Williams senior vice president for corporate strategic development. "Brazos'
high-quality gathering pipelines and processing assets, combined with its industry-leading capabilities in Reeves, Ward
and Pecos counties, are an excellent match
for the gathering systems and additional
capabilities Williams is contributing."

WES Obtains Midstream Assets From Anadarko
HOUSTON-Anadarko Petroleum
Corp. says it is selling substantially all
of its remaining midstream assets for
$4.015 billion to Western Gas Partners
LP (WES), with half to be paid in cash
and the remainder in WES equity.
At the same time, WES says it is entering a merger agreement with Western
Gas Equity Partners, which will result in
a simplified midstream structure.
Both the sale and merger are subject
to regulatory approvals.
Most of the transaction, Anadarko says,
is associated with its Delaware and Denver-Julesburg basin oil plays. In the West
Texas Delaware Basin, Anadarko says,
WES is acquiring 100 percent interests in
its DBM Oil Services and APC Water
Holdings, and 50 percent nonoperated interests in its Bone Spring and MiVida

gas plants. In the northeastern Colorado
DJ Basin, Anadarko continues, WES is
acquiring 100 percent interests in its DJ
Basin Oil System and Wattenberg Plant.
Additionally, Anadarko adds, the transaction includes 100 percent interest in
the Wamsutter Pipeline, a 20 percent
nonoperated interest in the Saddlehorn
Pipeline, and a 15 percent nonoperated
interest in the Panola Pipeline.
"The size of this asset sale, along with
the clear benefits of the simplification
transaction, highlights the tremendous
value of Anadarko's midstream business,"
reflects Chairman, President and Chief
Executive Officer Al Walker. "This will
enhance the read-through value of
Anadarko's midstream ownership through
increased liquidity and a less complex
structure."
