Tenaris Signs Agreement
To Buy IPSCO From TMK
LUXEMBOURG-Tenaris S.A. reports
it has entered into a definitive agreement
to acquire from the Russian company
PAO TMK every share of its wholly
owned U.S. subsidiary, IPSCO Tubulars
Inc., for $1.2 billion on a cash-free, debtfree basis. This includes $270 million of
working capital, Tenaris mentions.
IPSCO Tubulars is a U.S. producer of
seamless and welded oil country tubular
goods and line pipe. According to Tenaris,
it has an annual production capacity of
450,000 metric tons of steel bars, 400,000
metric tons of seamless pipe and 1 million
metric tons of welded pipe.
Tenaris says the acquisition will enhance
its position and local manufacturing presence
in U.S. markets by extending its product
offering and expanding its service footprint.
The acquisition would add Tenaris' first
U.S. steel bar production facility at Koppel,
Pa., complement the company's seamless
production in Bay City, Tx., with a second
facility in Ambridge, Pa., and bring additional welded, heat treatment and finishing
facilities to better serve customers throughout
the country, Tenaris details.
The transaction is subject to regulatory
approvals, including approval by U.S.
antitrust authorities, and other customary
conditions.

Kendra, De Nora Building Marcellus Water Facility
HOUSTON-Kendra II LLC, a water
transportation, management and disposal
provider, and De Nora, a designer of
water disinfection and oxidation, filtration
and electrochlorination solutions, report
they are almost done building a produced
water recycling facility in the heart of
the Marcellus Shale.
The Pennsylvania facility is scheduled
to commence operations in late May 2019
and will be capable of processing 18,000
barrels a day of produced water, the companies detail. Kendra will provide transportation, water management, logistics
and disposal services based on clients'
needs, while De Nora will provide a produced water recycling technology that

Permian Basin Conference To Explore Water Recycling
LONDON-American Business Conferences' flagship event, the Produced
Water Management Permian Conference,
is scheduled for July 16-17 in Houston.
The company says attendees will gain
insights that will help them make economic

NthDS Service Deploys AI To Organize Clients' Files
HOUSTON-NthDS has launched
Crawler, a service that leverages machine
learning to quickly and accurately organize
files on shared network drives. The company says this technology reduces the
time employees spend searching for files
or reorganizing them when growth creates
a need for more consistent and userfriendly file structures.
Using a proprietary convolutional
neural network alongside optical character recognition, the Crawler finds,
reads and classifies pertinent documents,
then sorts them, NthDS says. For example, it can look for purchase orders

or invoices, then alter the name to indicate type, link to them in a database of
file locations, or move them to an appropriate folder. The company says the
service classifies documents page by
page, allowing it to handle PDFs and
other files containing several documents.
