Uses Data To Boost ROI
HOUSTON-MicroSeismic Inc. has
launched FracRx®, which it presents as a
data analytics company focused solely on
helping unconventional basin operators
increase net present value and return on
investment.
FracRx formalizes MSI's data analytics
and synthesis platform. The company says
the new entity will integrate multiphysics
data to develop solutions for improving
well economics, maximizing drainage volumes, optimizing completions and mitigating risk, an approach that has proven to
help operators increase NPV and ROI.
"The last few years at MSI have been
spent working to understand our customers' challenges and to help them
achieve their biggest goal, generating
cash flow. We are able to help them
achieve that by driving costs down and
increasing volume drainage through well
spacing, well configuration, effectiveness
of the frac, treatment order and treatment

Halliburton LWD Service Maps Formations In 3-D
HOUSTON-Halliburton Company has
introduced 3-D reservoir mapping, which
it describes as a logging-while-drilling capability that provides a detailed representation of subsurface structures to improve
well placement in complex reservoirs.
The 3-D mapping process reveals
overlooked features such as faults, water
zones, or local structural variations that
can alter the optimal landing trajectory
of a well considerably, Halliburton says.
When used in geosteering applications,
the company continues, the technology
maximizes contact with oil and gas

zones while mapping the surrounding
formation to identify bypassed oil, avoid
drilling hazards and help plan for future
development.
The 3-D capability originates from
downhole measurements taken by the
EarthStar™ ultradeep resistivity service. According to Halliburton, this
LWD sensor identifies reservoir and
fluid boundaries as much as 225 feet
from the wellbore, twice as far as other
offerings.

Wild Well Contracts Fugro To Provide Subsea Skids
HOUSTON-Wild Well Control Inc.
has signed a contract with Fugro under
which Fugro will provide blowout preventer intervention skids and test units

The Permian Basin International Oil Show says it has donated $282,500 to five
educational institutions and organizations. The show presented $80,000 checks to the
University of Texas at the Permian Basin, Odessa College and Midland College, as well
as $35,000 to Texas Tech University and $7,500 to the Desk and Derrick Club of Midland.
Since 2006, PBIOS-which takes place during October in even years-reports it has
increased its educational donations, with this year's bringing the grand total to $1.1
million. "One of the best investments in this industry is to provide educational

subsea capping stack program, the new
450/150 Mark 3 BOP intervention skids
from Fugro offer greater pumping capability and work in deeper water, Wild
Well says.
Fugro adds that the technology enables full skid testing without an ROV, interfaces with most workclass ROV
systems, and benefits from a bespoke,
self-contained storage and maintenance
transport container.
Deployments of the skid system to
date have included full functional testing
on a Fugro ROV at a water depth of
12,467 feet, Fugro reports.
