New Halliburton Apps Aid

HOUSTON-To help operators reduce
exploration risks, improve reservoir characterization and boost drilling efficiency,
Halliburton Company announces it has
released 10 DecisionSpace® 365 E&P
cloud-native applications.
These applications include Scalable
Earth Modeling, which Halliburton describes as a high-fidelity, fast earth modeling solution that uses all available data,
without upscaling, to produce rock property models that can be interrogated across
all scales of resolution. With the ability
to test multiple scenarios in seconds, Halliburton says Earth Modeling allows an
unrivalled understanding of the subsurface
from the basin to the wellbore.
A second app, Full-Scale Asset Simulation, performs multiple and fully coupled subsurface/surface scenarios to define the optimal field development plan,
the company continues. The app adjusts
the size of the computing infrastructure
to the complexity of the model to speed
simulation, increase team productivity
and accuracy, and reduce costs, Halliburton reports.
For operators who are looking to
streamline well site operations, the DecisionSpace 365 Real-Time Control-Edge
application enables seamless data integration with well site advisory solutions.

Nissan Gets First Patent For Flowback Accelerator
PASADENA, TX.-Nissan Chemical
America Corporation announces it has
received its first U.S. Patent, "Hydrocarbon
Formation Treatment Micellar Solutions."
The patent covers nanoActiv® EFT,
which NCA describes as the first micellar
dispersion additive that harnesses the
power of nanoparticle technology to increase initial oil and gas production.
The product combines Nissan's proprietary silicon dioxide nanoparticles, an
organic solvent, and a blend of surfactants
to efficiently overcome problems presented by increases in water saturation
and decreases in hydrocarbon mobility,
NCA says.
"For the nanotechnology to do its

job, the particles must be uniform in
size and remain separate from each other.
In the presence of brine, that is a very
difficult thing to do," observes NCA
Technology Director John Southwell.
"We solved this challenge by engineering
highly surface-modified brine-resistant
nanoActiv particles with the ability to
remain a colloidal dispersion in challenging downhole conditions."
According to NCA, nanoActiv EFT
reaches into small pore spaces to mobilize
oil and deliver significantly more efficient
and complete flowback of the treatment
fluids over a shorter period of time.

in the Raccoon Bend Field in Texas and to
pay drilling and completion costs.
Racoon Bend is a salt dome near the
Brazos River in Austin and Waller counties.
It has produced 113 million barrels of oil
since its discovery by Humble Oil in the
late 1920s and still produces 800 barrels
a day, Production Lending describes. The
capital provider says it structured the investment as a short-term bridge loan at
Chahta's request to provide the flexibility
to refinance with conventional bank debt
at any time.
Ryan Messer, one of Chahta's owners,
