Gravity Acquires Handler Of Midland Basin Water
MIDLAND-Gravity reports it has
signed a definitive agreement with White
Deer Energy to acquire On Point Oilfield
Holdings LLC, a produced water midstream company focused on gathering
and disposal operations in the Midland
Basin. Terms of the transaction were
not disclosed.
According to Gravity, the acquisition
will create the Midland Basin's largest
commercial produced water disposal company by injection volume.
On Point's asset base adds 17 saltwater
disposal wells and 432,500 barrels a day

of permitted disposal capacity to Gravity's
water midstream business. On Point has
saltwater disposal permits for 120,000
bbl/d of additional capacity and the right
to develop disposal permits for 305,000
bbl/d of capacity targeting the Ellenburger
Formation, Gravity adds.
Pro forma for the acquisition, Gravity
says it will own and manage more than 50
active saltwater disposal wells with 1 million
bbl/d of permitted disposal capacity.

Oseberg Streamlines Use Of New Mexico's Oil Data
OKLAHOMA CITY-With Oseberg's New Mexico market intelligence
product, the company says the state's
operators have for the first time direct
access to multiple sources of public
oil and gas information from one location. These sources include the federal
Bureau of Land Management, New
Mexico's State Land Office and Oil
Conservation Division, and county
courthouse records from the what Oseberg calls the four key Delaware/Permian Basin counties: Chaves, Eddy,
Lea and Roosevelt.
These datasets provide full visibility
to market activity throughout the asset
development life cycle, Oseberg says.
Data includes deeds, leases, assignments, agreements, spacing and pooling applications and orders, spacing
units, communitizations, state and
federal drilling permits, and well information such as completion details
and monthly production.

The data is accessible through Oseberg's flagship search and mapping application, Atla®, along with dataStream®
Web services and Oseberg's ArcGIS™
map services. In addition, all the county
records and OCD regulatory filings
work with Full Text Search, which Oseberg describes as a powerful Googlelike search interface that allows customers to search hundreds of thousands
of documents for specific words or
phrases in seconds.
"This new dataset already is helping
clients find mineral owners, map pools
by formation, navigate through federal
leases and communitizations, and determine working interest and overriding
royalties," reports Cris Byers, Oseberg's
product manager. "It's a treasure trove
of data that has been difficult to find all
in one place in the past."

Halliburton Refines System
For Deepwater Completion
HOUSTON-Halliburton Co. says it is
offering the Xtreme Single-Trip Multizone
(XSTMZ™) system for completing wells
in deepwater and ultradeepwater conditions
with pressures as great as 15,000 psi.
The system is based on the company's
Enhanced Single-Trip Multizone system,
which is rated to 10,000 psi, Halliburton
mentions. XSTIMZ's increased pressure
rating allows operators to isolate and fracture
pack multiple zones at higher pump rates
with larger proppant volumes, the company
says. It adds that the system supports
creation of zonal compartments for better
stimulation of long pay zones that have
high pressure differentials between them.
XSTIMZ's higher capacity helps increase
production and total recovery by driving
down abandonment pressure, and can save
rig time by isolating and treating several
intervals in a single trip, Halliburton says.

VBRI Offers Tough Rams
For Dual-String Shearing
BROUSSARD, LA.-Variable Bore
Rams Inc. says it has added Cameron's
new dual-string interlocking (DSI) shear
rams to its inventory.
According to VBRI, the DSI shear
rams enhance operational flexibility with
an innovative performance-improving ram
interlocking mechanism. Arms on its upper
ram prevent any vertical separation between
the lower and upper blades, shearing wireline and braided cable with zero tension
in the line, VBRI reports. Without the
need for a foldover shoulder, the company
continues, DSI shear rams have the capacity
to shear larger diameter pipe and casing.
"The dual-string interlocking shear
rams are completely new and unique in
the industry, complying with upcoming
Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement requirements for Outer Continental Shelf drilling platforms," says Chip
Marshall, VBR's chief executive officer
and president. "The shearing capability
of the new DSI rams far surpasses that of
any other rams on the market, providing
a valuable extra layer of safety to operations on site."
VBRI indicates the rams are available
in 135⁄8 inch, 3-10 M Cameron U/UM
