Our cementing plugs are engineered
for reliability. Five wiping surfaces
provide a firm wiping action all the way to bottom. The top plug has a
solid non-metalic core. It is completely encased in rubber to prevent
pumpout and insure separation of slurry and drilling fluid at the bottom
of the casing. The core of the bottom plug is an aluminum alloy
cylinder with a diaphragm designed to allow the plug to be pumped
ahead of the cement slurry and rupture at touchdown on the float
equipment. Plugs are available in sizes: 2 3⁄8" through 13 3⁄8".

The plugs were originally designed for the large diameter casing used on
our Gulf Coast and have been in use for over 20 years. The assembly
consists of three heavy rubber cups separated by two aluminum alloy
bodies, three aluminum alloy discs. The plugs are assembled with
aluminum alloy bolts. The design provides six wiping surfaces. The
strength of these plugs permits use of conventional cementing methods
in deep holes. The bottom plugs have a diaphragm designed to allow the
plug to be pumped ahead of the cement slurry and rupture at touchdown
on the float equipment.

Top and bottom plugs are available in sizes: 16", 18 5⁄8", and 20"

barrels of oil equivalent a day from more
than 900 operated wells, and 350 million
cubic feet a day of processing capacity
connected to 450 miles of gas gathering
pipelines. "There will be more acquisitions
that we make in and around us, as other
companies need to consolidate," he notes.

EPIC Begins Oil Loading
At Corpus Christi Facility
SAN ANTONIO-An EPIC Crude Holdings LP subsidiary has launched the first
shipment of crude oil from the IGC marine
terminal on the Inner Harbor of the Corpus
Christi Ship Channel. EPIC began repurposing the terminal in 2019, the company
says, while a larger one is in progress.
Once completed, EPIC says its marine
terminal will consist of two separate
dock facilities. The West Dock is in
service, and can load Aframax-sized
tankers capable of transporting 750,000
barrels at a maximum loading rate of
20,000 barrels an hour. The East Dock
is a green-field dock facility that can
load Suezmax-sized tankers rated at 1
million barrels, with a maximum loading
rate of 40,000 barrels an hour, the company details, adding it expects the East
Dock to begin operating in the third
quarter of 2020.
"EPIC's ability to provide crude transport
out of the Delaware and Eagle Ford basins
and onto export vessels is strategic both
for the company and for continued upstream
development within the two basins," says
Brian Freed, EPIC's president.

North Slope LNG Project
Passes FERC Milestone
WASHINGTON-The U.S. Federal
Energy Regulatory Commission has published the final environmental impact
statement for the Alaska LNG project.
FERC says it is scheduled to issue the
final order for Alaska LNG in June.
According to the EIS, the project
will commercialize the state's resources
by liquefying natural gas from Alaska's
North Slope fields for export. The
project includes a new gas treatment
plant; transmission lines, including a
806-mile mainline pipeline, and associated compressor and heater stations;
and a 20 million metric ton per annum
LNG facility and marine terminal on
the eastern shore of Cook Inlet on the
Kenai Peninsula.
The project would have an annual average inlet design capacity of as much as
3.7 billion cubic feet a day and a peak
capacity of 3.9 Bcf/d, FERC says.
