HOUSTON-ION Geophysical Corp.
announces it has commercialized its
Gemini™ extended frequency source
technology following a successful survey
in the Gulf of Mexico.
Developed with support from an exploration, drilling and production company, the new source technology
addresses demand for increased geophysical fidelity in complex geologies
while improving operational and environmental performance, ION says.
Gemini works across seabed and towed
streamer data acquisition platforms and
is immediately available as a plug-in
component to existing source infrastructure, the company reports.
Gemini provides a broad source spectrum that is significantly richer in low frequencies, which ION says support more
accurate geological models and imaging
by driving improved performance and automation of full waveform inversion
workflows. The company adds that Gemini reduces environmental impacts, and
has been approved by environmental permitting authorities in the United States
and United Kingdom.

WICHITA, KS.-Paragon Geophysical
Services Inc. announces it is investing in
Sercel's WiNG nodal technology.
As a fully-integrated nodal land acquisition system with a single data collection platform, WiNG enables surveyors
to manage operations more easily and
efficiently, Paragon explains. The nodes
integrate QuietSeis®, which Paragon describes as Sercel's best-performing and
most sensitive broadband sensor yet, to
acquire precise seismic data.
In late September, Paragon indicated
it planned to add 6,000 nodes to its fleet
by Oct. 1. The company pointed out that
the new technology works with its 40 vibroseis units, which are equipped with
Sercel's VE 464 system, offering a range
of frequency solutions.

DALLAS-Energy Transfer says it has
completed its Lone Star Express Pipeline
expansion project on budget and ahead
of schedule.
The 352-mile, 24-inch pipeline originates in Winkler County, Tx., and connects into the Lone Star Express 30inch line at the Morgan Junction in
Bosque County, Tx., south of Fort Worth.
Energy Transfer says the expansion adds
more than 400,000 barrels a day of
natural gas liquids capacity to its Lone
Star NGL system in Texas and provides
shippers additional capacity out of the
Permian and Delaware basins.
The Lone Star pipeline system ultimately connects into Energy Transfer's
Mont Belvieu, Tx., facility, which the
company says is an integrated liquids
storage and fractionation facility along
the Gulf Coast that has 35 strategic
connections.

Metals reports it has installed and
commissioned its second metal additive
manufacturing machine in Houston to
meet growing demand from oil and
gas customers.
With the new equipment, vSM says
it can help customers build next-generation downhole components for drilling
and completions by printing parts in a
variety of materials, including cobalt
chrome, maraging steels, nickel alloys
and titanium.
