Petroleum Alliance Of Oklahoma
Convention Looks To Region's Future
OKLAHOMA CITY-The Petroleum
Alliance of Oklahoma will return to the
site of its debut for its 2021 annual convention,
Aug. 5-7 at the Four Seasons
Resort & Club Dallas. That is where the
association unveiled its name and logo
in June 2019 after forming by combining
the Oklahoma Independent Petroleum
Association and Oklahoma Oil & Gas
Association earlier that year.
This time, after a pandemic-imposed
gap year forced the Petroleum Alliance-
and all other groups-to forgo so many
in-person events, the Alliance will come
together again to ponder the opportunities
and potential pitfalls that lay ahead.
" What does the future hold for the
Mid-Continent? " the Alliance poses in a
convention announcement. " From economics,
regulation and legislation, speakers
at the Petroleum Alliance's 2021 Annual
Meeting will help you prepare for what's
in store in 2022 and beyond. "
With convention registration already
underway, the Alliance says the annual
meeting constitutes the year's biggest
event for Oklahoma oil and gas professionals
and one of the country's largest
gatherings among statewide oil and gas
trade associations. The event attracts professionals
from every segment of the
Sooner State's top industry, the Alliance
points out, who gather to interact with
their peers and hear from industry experts
and elected officials.
The conference features industry and
government leaders, the Alliance reports.
Examples include a roundtable discussion
with chief executive officers from some
of Oklahoma's top oil and gas companies,
and a panel with Oklahoma's legislative
leadership.
According to the Alliance, confirmed
speakers include:
· Lee Tillman, president and CEO
of Marathon Oil Corp.;
· Tom Jorden, president and CEO of
Cimarex Energy Co.;
· Robert S. Kaplan, CEO of the Federal
Reserve Bank of Dallas;
· Taimur Shaikh, U.S. Environmental
Protection Agency Region VI senior policy
adviser on energy;
· Russell Evans, executive director
of the Steven C. Agee Economic Research
& Policy Institute;
The Petroleum Alliance of Oklahoma's 2021 convention, scheduled for Aug. 5-7 at the Four
Seasons Resort & Club Dallas, will open with a golf scramble, welcome party and fireworks
show. The second day includes general sessions, a Board of Directors meeting, and a
cocktail reception, dinner and casino party. The convention's final day includes more
general sessions and a keynote luncheon.

City, president pro tempore of the Oklahoma
Senate; and
· Representative Charles McCall, RAtoka,
speaker of the Oklahoma House
of Representatives.
Conference Overview
Events are scheduled to start late on the
morning of Thursday, Aug. 5, with the
annual Wildcatters' golf scramble. The
day's events wrap up with an evening Wildcatters'
welcome party and fireworks show.
Friday, Aug. 6 begins with breakfast,
the opening of the exhibition and a full
slate of general sessions. Midday features
a Board of Directors meeting, and the
evening includes a cocktail reception,
dinner and casino party.
The morning of the convention's final
day includes breakfast, the exhibition and
general sessions. After that comes a
keynote luncheon and sporting clays competition.

New
Leadership
Meanwhile, the Alliance reports, its
Board of Directors elected Continental
Resources' Blu Hulsey to serve two years
as chairman. Hulsey and the other Alliance
officers were elected to two year terms
that began on June 1. Other officers
elected were:
· Vice Chairman Chad McDougall,
JMA Energy Co.;
· Treasurer Matt Most, Ovintiv; and
· Secretary Greg Shepherd, Mewbourne
Oil Co.
" It is an honor to have the opportunity
to lead this organization, particularly in
this moment in time. As our world continues
to wake up from the pandemic,
Oklahoma oil and gas will continue to
play a vital role in bettering the lives of
people across Oklahoma, our nation and
the world. " Hulsey said. " There has been
no industry more important to our state
than oil and gas, and that legacy will
continue for decades to come. I look forward
to working with the dedicated staff
at the Alliance advocating on behalf of
the 350,000-plus Oklahomans that rely
on oil and gas for jobs and promoting the
economic and human benefits our industry
provides Oklahomans across our great
state and nation. "
