KIOGA's 2021 annual convention, Aug. 15-17, will return to the Century II Performing Arts &
Convention Center in Wichita, Ks. The first day features Board of Directors and general
membership meetings, the trade show and an evening reception. The second day includes
seminars, a keynote luncheon, a live auction and Boone's Backyard Party. The final day
offers golf, sporting clays and gin rummy tournaments.

Three Day Event
According to the association, the convention's
first day begins with its customary
Board of Directors and general
membership meetings, at which Kansas
Corporation Commission Chairman Andrew
French will speak. Other items on
the schedule for that day include the
trade show's opening, a cocktail mixer
and a reception honoring KIOGA Chairman
David Bleakley of Colt Energy.
The next day's events get underway
with a buffet breakfast in the exhibitor
area of Expo Hall. Seminars include a
federal issues panel discussion moderated
by KIOGA President Edward Cross and
featuring Senator Roger Marshall, RKs.,
Representative Ron Estes, R-Ks.,
Representative Jake LaTurner, R-Ks.,
and Representative Tracey Mann, R-Ks.
A concurrent session by Spencer Alef
and Kevin Elledge of Petro Power will
explain how operators can use data gathering
and pump stroke analysis to trim
electric costs.
After the keynote luncheon featuring
Pompeo's remarks come two afternoon
seminars: " The Weaponization of Climate
Science, " by meteorologist and State Senator
Mike Thompson, R-Shawnee, and
" Land and Legal Implications of Unitization
for Enhanced Recovery Purposes, "
by Jon Schlatter of Morris Laing and
Nathan Jiwanial of Trans Pacific Oil Corp.
The day's events will conclude with
the Kansas Strong Cocktail Party, a live
auction and Boone's Backyard Party, which
will offer plenty of cold drinks and games.
Games are the major theme of the
convention's last day, with golf and
sporting clays tournaments in the morning,
and a gin rummy tournament in
the afternoon.

Krauss has been secretary/treasurer at
John O. Farmer, a producer with operations
throughout central and western Kansas,
and has been on KIOGA's Board of Directors
since 2013. She serves on the Executive
Committee, has chaired the Federal
and State Tax Committee and the Finance
Committee, and served as a member of
the Ad Valorm Tax Committee. In 2015,
Kraus received the KIOGA President's
Leadership Award. Krauss has a B.S. in
both accounting and agricultural economics,
as well as a M.B.A. from Kansas
State University and is a C.P.A.
The association points out that Kansas
City business magazine Ingram's selected
Krauss in its 2021 class of " 50
Kansans You Should Know. " The list
honors high achieving, critical thinking
and visionary Kansans who have made
a mark on the state.
