Virginia Beach Beckons Again
For 2021 VOGA Annual Meeting
WISE, VA.-After a year of virtual
meetings, the Virginia Oil & Gas Association
is seeing strong sponsorship support
for its annual meeting, set for Oct.
12-14 at the Hilton Garden Inn Oceanfront
in Virginia Beach, Va., reports association
President Lawton Mullins, who
also serves as president of Natural Resource
Services Inc. in Wise. " I think it
will be another great meeting, " he predicts.
" Our members are excited to be
able to meet in person and experience
one of our most valuable membership
benefits, which is networking. "
Attendees will have the opportunity
to learn from industry experts during the
conference's technical sessions. According
to VOGA, those sessions include:
· " Update on Virginia's Oil and Gas
Development for 2020, " by a representative
of the state Department of Mines, Minerals
& Energy-Division of Gas & Oil;
· " An Overview of Renewable Natural
Gas, " from Kaleb Holbrook at Southern
Gas Co.;
· " Virginia Tech's Virginia Center for
Coal and Energy Research: Update on
Carbon Capture, " by Nino Ripepi of Virginia
Polytechnic Institute and State University;
· " Forever Chemicals in a Persistent
Industry: PFAS Challenges for the Petroleum
Industry, " by Gerry Kirkpatrick
at Environmental Standards Inc.;
· " An introduction to BHE Gas Transmission
& Storage (formerly known as
Dominion Energy Transmission), " by
Bruce McKay with BHE Gas Transmission
& Storage;
· " Environmental Justice Assessments:
Our Approach and Common Challenges, "
by Kathryn MacCormick at Dominion
Energy; and
· " Chesapeake Bay Helicopters Inc.:
Technology Based Solutions to Meet
Client Needs, " by Matt Eberwine with
Chesapeake Bay Helicopters Inc.
Mullins adds the agenda includes a
full slate of family activities, such as
golf, a fishing outing and family barbecue.
VOGA Public Relations Director Beth
Stockner mentions that the meeting will
provide an opportunity to discuss several
successful outreach projects from the
year, such as VOGA's first annual hot
meals drive and first-ever camporee
through which scouts can earn an energy
and environment merit.
The meeting will conclude with the
Seventh Annual Oil & Gas Awards, Stockner
notes, which will be presented by the Virginia
Department of Energy and recognize
companies and individuals who have excelled
at providing oil and natural gas
products and services in an environmentally
safe, environmentally conscious and professional
manner during the past year.

VOGA annual convention, scheduled
