New ESPs Pair Longevity With Quicker Installation
THE WOODLANDS, TX.-ChampiESP
Systems has
onX's UNBRIDLED®
introduced the HIGH RISE™ series pump
line, which ChampionX says is engineered
to significantly improve electric submersible
pumps' performance and longevity
while reducing their carbon footprint.
The pumps feature patented Oculus™
technology that allows them to deliver as
much as 33% greater lift for each unit
length of pump, ChampionX says, noting
that higher lift for each stage means fewer
components in the well and faster installs.
The HIGH RISE series covers an extended
production range from 200 to 7,500 barrels
a day, ChampionX continues.

New
Mexico Approves Tool For Finding Methane Leaks
BOZEMAN, MT.-Bridger Photonics'
aerial Gas Mapping LiDAR™ has been approved
for use as an advanced leak detection
and repair monitoring technology by New
Mexico's Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources
Department (EMNRD). This approval
allows New Mexico operators to use
the methane detection technology to help
meet the state's methane emission limits.
Bridger points out that in 2021,
EMNRD released new rules requiring
operators to reduce unnecessary methane
emissions in stages, culminating in a gas
capture rate of at least 98% by the end of
2026 (meaning less than 2% of gas produced
is allowed to escape into the atmosphere).
Operators who use approved
ALARM technologies to detect, isolate
and repair leaks can earn credits that offset
a portion of an operator's total annual
volume of lost gas.
Bridger says its technology images
methane emissions using laser-based sensors
mounted on aircraft, enabling the
company to provide maps pinpointing
and quantifying emissions to guide repairs.
As a division-approved ALARM
technology, operators can credit 40% of
the volume of natural gas discovered by
Gas Mapping LiDAR, verified and repaired
within the rule's specifications,
Bridger details.

Drill Bit Analysis System
GALVESTON, TX.-Wellbore Matters
LLC says it has secured an exclusive license
to integrate Teradata's BitBox™ drill bit
analyzer into its rig-deployable solutions.
BitBox, which is not yet commercialized,
uses a physical inspection device to
capture 180 images of a drill bit, then
uploads these to cloud software, which
turns the images into a high-resolution
3-D model using photogrammetry, AI
and machine learning, Wellbore Matters
describes. The company says this process
fully characterizes every drill bit component,
identities and measures defects, and
builds drill bit constructs that enable
studies of individual blades and cutters,
as well as ordinality of the defects.

SOFEC
reports its first-of-a-kind disconnectable tower yoke mooring system has been
put into operation in the Gulf of Mexico. The FPSO MIAMTE MV34, which MODEC Group
will operate for Eni Mexico, was successfully connected to the pre-installed tower,
SOFEC relates. Designed for operation in shallow water, the mooring system allows the
FPSO to quickly disconnect and sail away to avoid severe weather events, SOFEC
describes. The company says the mooring system can transfer fluids, power and other
utilities and signals from up to three production platforms through 11 risers and three
umbilicals, making it one of the most complex tower yoke mooring systems delivered.
