AOPA'S FLIGHT TRAINING ADVANTAGE

THE INITIAL IDEA FOR AOPA'S FLIGHT
TRAINING ADVANTAGE WAS BORN OUT OF
MY FRUSTRATION WITH WORKING WITH A
TRADITIONAL PAPER SYLLABUS. Instead of
static lessons, wouldn't it be cool if you could
have the organized structure of a syllabus
combined with the flexibility of adapting to
your students' needs? AOPA has come up with
an answer: AOPA's Flight Training Advantage
(AFTA)-a game-changing
flight training platform that
adapts to student progress and
simplifies CFI workload. Here
are 4 things you may not know
about AFTA:
#1-NEW CFI ANd
FLIGHT SCHOOL
INCENTIVES!
Made possible for a limited
time by generous donors,
AOPA offers financial
incentives* to flight training
providers who sign up to use AFTA. In
particular, CFIs will receive $50 for each student
who completes an initial pilot certificate using
AFTA, and if you are a current AOPA member,
the incentive increases to $100 per student
completion! Flight schools will receive $250
after three students have each logged at least
three lessons within AFTA and $50 for each
student who completes an initial pilot certificate

#2-AFTA IS FLEXIBLE.
Designed for the approach that many
experienced CFIs take when working with a
student, AFTA gives CFIs flexibility in where
to place learning activities within the lesson
to make the best use of training time. Even
better, CFIs are able to easily adapt to the
dynamic environment when working with a
student. Working on landings and encounter
unexpected crosswinds? Simply add that into
the lesson with the click of a button! Running
low on time or realize that your client isn't
quite ready? Just skip the maneuver and it will
be automatically added to the next lesson.
#3-MAKES YOUR JOB EASIER.
Active CFIs often work with quite a number
of students over the course of a week. It can be
challenging to stay on top of paperwork and keep
everything straight so you can be ready to give
your best instruction to each student. At a glance,
the CFI app shows your student's progress
and what they are doing in their next lesson.
In flight, you can record quick notes and grade
maneuvers as you fly. Training notes and records
all captured in one place! Also, if you are looking
