a happy medium. A flight instructor who
takes his or her job seriously will be expected to share their knowledge clearly,
take time with their students for preflight
and postflight briefings, and not leave the

end of a lesson. Following a syllabus is important too, as it provides guidelines. Even
the best of us can forget a step or two dur-

of materials easier.
The choice, of course, is yours. The bottom line is
that the student and instructor have a good working
relationship. The learning process should go smoothly. The end result will be a competent, well-rounded
pilot, who knows the airplane and the system and
feels comfortable with the training received. A student taught by a flight instructor with a professional
attitude will reflect that professional attitude, their
competency as a pilot never in question.
