WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE ABOUT TULLAHOMA, TENNESSEE? IT OFFERS GRACIOUS SOUTHERN HOSPI-

tality, a world-renown aviation museum that honors all things Beechcraft, and is down the road
from the Jack Daniel Distillery. Oh, and Tullahoma Regional Airport/William Northern Field
(THA) is pretty gorgeous, too, what with two 5,000-foot asphalt runways and two turf runways.
AOPA enjoyed a great fly-in at Tullahoma in 2015-and we're going back to have an even better,
expanded event September 13 and 14, 2019.
Additional content, fresh Friday programming, new educational options, and exciting aerial
activities are planned. We will welcome visitors at a Friday morning pancake breakfast at 8 a.m.
Throughout the day free seminars and paid ground school workshops will take place. AOPA President Mark Baker will present a Pilot Town Hall meeting at 11 a.m. Area food trucks will arrive
and sell an array of food selections from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. At 4 p.m. the Exhibit Hall happy hour
begins followed by a flightline cookout presented by Jeppesen. Evening highlights include a short
takeoff and landing demonstration and a drone aerial night show produced by The Great Lakes
Drone Co.
Saturday we wake and do it all again, with the STOL invitational taking place at noon. The
fly-in concludes at 4 p.m. Make a weekend of your visit-local activities such as tours of the
Beechcraft Heritage Museum, Arnold Air Force Base, a fly-out to the Swift Museum, and the Jack
Daniel Distillery are must-dos. Plan ahead to enjoy that Southern hospitality at restaurants such
as Miss Mary Bobo's Boarding House, Piggy's Barbeque, and One22West.

140 based aircraft, and
boasts 40,000 flight
operations each year.
Originally Camp Forrest,
a World War II training
facility, pilots were
taught to fly the B-24
Liberator here.
