JOHN, MARTHA KING AND GREG BROWN INDUCTED INTO CFI HALL OF FAME
KING SCHOOLS INC. FOUNDERS JOHN AND MARTHA KING AND
well-known instructor and aviation author Greg Brown
were humbled during a surprise Flight Instructor Hall of
Fame induction ceremony at the National Business Aviation
Association Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition in
Las Vegas in October. National Association of Flight Instructors
Program Director John Niehaus presented the award, which
is granted for making " significant contributions to aviation
education and flight instruction while reflecting credit upon
themselves and their profession. " The Kings have coached
thousands of pilots through passing their FAA knowledge
exams with sage advice, folksy humor, and a money-back guarantee.
Brown has 40 years of experience instructing and taught
and entertained students and pilots alike with stories about
flying his Cessna Skylane in his " Flying Carpet " column, which
he wrote for Flight Training for 20 years.

20 aviation courses for smartphones, tablets,

been updated and expanded for 2022.
New videos cover the latest changes to airspace,
tips for flight planning with Garmin
avionics, new ForeFlight weather tools,
commercial pilot maneuvers, and more.
The Pilot Training app is available
on five smart TV platforms: Apple TV,
Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, and
Chromecast. This represents more than 95
percent of smart TVs in the United States,
making it easy to watch in-flight videos at
home. Progress syncs between all devices,
so pilots can watch a video on their TV
and switch to their smartphone without
losing progress. You can listen to the
audio for each segment on your morning
walk or in the car, and the intuitive app
layout makes it easy to switch between
video and audio.

Other new features for 2022 include
new audio training segments, an interactive
flight instructor portal, and
integration with AOPA Flight Training
Advantage (AFTA). Lifetime updates are
still included at no additional cost.
" As pilot hiring takes off after a brief
pandemic pause, a good home study
course is critical for efficient flight
training, " said Radtke. " Sporty's Pilot
Training apps make it easier for pilots to
achieve their aviation goals, with powerful
training tools that can be used across
all their devices. "
Knowledge test prep tools also got
an upgrade: Sporty's Power-Study tools
are available across all devices. This
includes advanced study modes that
tailor the session to each student's learning
progress, complete study history
that highlights a student's weak areas,
and the ability to create custom quizzes
based on past sessions.
Sporty's flight instructors provide the
required endorsement to take the FAA
test when complete. The newly designed
flight instructor portal makes it easy for
students to include their CFI in their
home study by sharing course progress
and practice test results. Flight instructors
can track performance for multiple
students and view course content so
lessons stay on track.
The integration with AOPA's Flight
Training Advantage, a web portal- and
iPad-based training application for
organizing flight training, allows users to
connect their course progress to AFTA,
creating a seamless experience in and out
of the airplane.
