“Pass Your Written - Save $300 Pass Your Flight Test - Save $3,000 ”
An interview with Donald Harrington, President, American Flyers

Q. How can I save money and become a proficient pilot as well? A. The key to saving $300 while preparing for your written and $3000 preparing for your flight test is using an organized system. American Flyers has spent 70 years developing the best in the industry. First, you must have a “Learning Guide”, a textbook that not only narrates and illustrates your course of study, but also provides a step by step outline. The American Flyers Private, Instrument and Advanced Learning Guides, are 350 to 1,000 page color manuals that have no equal in saving your time, as well as money. Second, to complement the Learning Guide, you must have a dynamic instructor to reinforce the written information with lecture. Some of the best teachers in the country conduct our classes whether they’re live at one of our airports or on video over our internet site. Third, the best way to acquire your flight skill is using specialized computer software. Q. “Software…” isn’t getting into the airplane the next step? A. Of course, but we’ve learned that whenever possible, it’s best to “learn” your flight skills using software first, and then, “practice” them in your airplane. Certainly not everyone has a SimPro 200 Simulator like ours, but our course software can be downloaded into your computer and make a pretty nifty flying machine out of it. Q. How realistic is American Flyers’ software? A. Let me assure you that these courses are not games. This is powerful educational software that has been developed in cooperation with Microsoft over the last ten years. In effect, we’ve installed one of our best instructors into the software and he demonstrates the maneuvers and teaches each lesson as outlined in the American Flyers’ Learning Guide. Q. So I can use this software at one of your schools or download it into my computer to study at home? A. Precisely. This pilot learning system (Learning Guide, Dynamic Instructor and Software) makes your work easier and more productive whether you’re using one of our fine instructors or the one at your local airport. Q. Can you provide me accommodations while I learn with you? A. Yes, we have dormitories, boarding houses and whatever grade of motel fits your budget. Some of our offices even have magnificent resorts located nearby for your family.

Q. How is American Flyers helping to solve the pilot shortage? A. We’ve prepared more pilots for careers than anyone in the world. The Private and Instrument Courses are our specialties and the educational core of any professional pilot program. Each of our “Nexus”, “Eagle” and “Instructor” Academies is designed to graduate totally qualified pilots and place them immediately into paying positions. Q. I’m already about halfway through my training program, will your learning system still work for me? A. Absolutely. Most of our students are finishing

their Private or Instrument with us because they just can’t get it done while honoring their personal and professional obligations. All we do is teach pilots, so nothing diverts our attention from the needs of our students. A long weekend is often all that is needed to get it done. Q. Can you provide me with a time and cost estimate? A. Yes. Your call will be answered by a pilot or instructor pilot, sensitive to your needs, and available to discuss, advise and guide you whether you study with us or not. To get your copy of our free 350-page, color Learning Guide: visit www.AmericanFlyers.net or call 800-362-0808.

Learning Guides
The key to our Pilot Learning System is the American Flyers’ Learning Guide. Written and published by our senior staff, these guides provide the organization and structure lacking in other programs. Our guides provide a solid foundation with a step by step, lesson by lesson syllabus that is guaranteed to save time and money. In fact, you can start saving immediately because these manuals are free to qualified inquiries.

Lecture / Videos
The second component of our system is the video or instructor ground training. If you attend one of our airport schools, your instructor will teach procedures and techniques personally in a “one on one” setting. For those working with their local instructor, the internet provides our video lessons and integrates seamlessly with both our printed and “On-Line” Learning Guides.

Course Software
You can enjoy the fun and educational benefits of this dynamic software using one of our SimPro 200 Simulators, download it into your computer, or purchase our mini-simulator for $1295 00. The mini-simulator is affectionately (and accurately) called the “School in the Box” and has become one of the aspiring pilots best friends. It has everything you need to pass your written and flight test with flying colors.
