In Short New Edition of The Advocate now Online APMA State Advocacy is pleased to announce publication of a new, redesigned edition of The Advocate, available at www.apma.org/TheAdvocateWinter2012. The Advocate is a state advocacy newsletter that provides timely and relevant information on issues that concern state associations. The Advocate focuses specifically on state legislative, regulatory, and legal trends. This edition features articles on prior authorization reform, a look back at some of the biggest state advocacy stories of 2011, a review of the initiatives and the steps State Advocacy took toward attaining parity for the profession in 2011, and the Center for Professional Advocacy’s self-assessment initiative. The Advocate features a new layout designed to better assist state associations in their advocacy efforts. Spring Footprints Newsletter is Here Warm spring days are on the horizon, and APMA’s spring edition of the Footprints newsletter, available at www. apma.org/footprints, is a great marketing tool for your practice. Articles on heel pain, nail fungus, and student recruitment are all presented in a bright, colorful format. Members can download Footprints (as a PDF) from the APMA website and customize the newsletter with practice and contact information. Free of charge for members, Footprints can be inserted into mailings, placed in your reception area, or distributed at health fairs or other community events. APMA’s Top Three Media Placements APMA’s Public Relations department promotes the profession with earned media placements in numerous media outlets each month. The campaign takes place in April and aims to educate Americans, especially those with diabetes, about ways to prevent an amputation.
