Why is podiatry the best career for you?
I enjoy mentoring, caring for patients, working to educate others about the profession, and promoting the
work we do daily. It is truly a career that ﬁts.
Who’s the most memorable professor you’ve ever had,
Dr. Talbert, biochemistry professor at Howard University. He challenged me to think outside the box; [taught
me] to never give up; and [showed me that] with hard,
work, all things are possible.

10. Tell us about a patient who changed your life or your approach to medicine.
I had a patient who had lost one leg and was about to
lose the other due to diabetes and lack of blood ﬂow.
Together with a vascular surgeon and [the patient’s]
primary care physician, we were able to save her leg.
During this ordeal, she never lost faith, always smiled,
and continued to thrive and enjoy each day. I will always know that I have chosen the right profession.
