CPME Update
Proposed Revisions to CPME 120

Every six years, the Council on Podiatric Medical Education
conducts a comprehensive review of the standards, requirements, and procedures associated with its evaluation activities. In order to facilitate these reviews, ad hoc educational
policies, standards, requirements, and procedures committees
are appointed. In 2016, the council appointed an ad hoc
advisory committee to review CPME publication 120, Standards and Requirements for Accrediting Colleges of Podiatric Medicine. The committee met face-to-face in February and May
2017, and conducted several conference calls and communicated through email throughout 2016 and 2017. At its October
2017 meeting, the council adopted a proposed draft, which includes significant revisions to CPME publication 120.
Following review of the comments from the community of interest, the proposed revisions to CPME 120 will be
considered for fi nal adoption by the council during its
April meeting.
The revised CPME 120 document may be found on
CPME.org by clicking the "Podiatric Medical Colleges" tab and
then "Proposed Revisions to CPME 120" in the left column.
