Why is podiatry the best career for
you?
This is one of the best careers where
people come [into the office] in pain
and discomfort and walk out feeling better.
When you were a kid, what did you
want to be when you grew up?
A doctor or a scientist.
Who's the most memorable professor
you've ever had, and why?
Hugh Ribiero, PhD, and Harry Hlavac, DPM. Both impressed upon me
that success is the result of how you
improve other people's lives

What would your last
meal be?
Garlic cheese pizza with
a small amount of oregano and red peppers.

What is your favorite vacation spot,
and why?
The big island of Hawaii
with all the different climates
and activities. Israel, with the
history of humankind over the
ages, leading to a small democracy despite a sea of hostility.

What do you do for fun during your time off?
I like to work out, ski, walk, and follow the stock market.

If you could meet any famous person, who would it be,
and why?
Moses. He stood against incredible forces and took a
nation out of bondage into freedom. Freedom is a messy
process and requires time for a person to adjust and
improve his or her life.

What is the biggest change you've seen in podiatric medicine since you started practicing?
Gradual acceptance of podiatric medicine as a separate specialty that works hand-in-hand with all other disciplines.
What is your favorite movie?
James Bond movies where the good guy wins.

What mistake have you made that taught you a great lesson?
No matter what treatment you render or how long you
spend with a patient, if the patient doesn't understand
why he or she needs to follow your advice, and doesn't
follow your advice, success will be delayed at best and
failure assured at worst.
