made. CPME has created multiple guidance documents and
continues to update them as needed. All COVID-19 guidance
documents can be found on CPME.org in the "News" section.
The most recent updates to the guidance documents include
the following:
* COVID-19 Guidance for Colleges: On June 29, CPME
released a third guidance document for the colleges.
This document provides a reporting mechanism for colleges to use to allow CPME to gather information concerning any modifications made to the curriculum or

programming. As an accrediting agency, CPME's primary
role is to ensure the continued quality of education provided to students.
* COVID-19 Guidance for Residency and Fellowship Sites:
CPME has published updated guidance documents concerning resident and fellow employment and residency requirements and minimum activity volume adjustments.
* On June 15, the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine and CPME published a joint guidance document that contains recommendations concerning clerkship experiences and residency interviews. n

AAWP Election Results
The American Association for Women Podiatrists (AAWP) held elections at a virtual annual meeting on
July 23. The newly elected officers are:

Karen Langone, DPM, is a graduate of the New York College of Podiatric Medicine (NYCPM). She is a diplomate of
the American Board of Podiatric Medicine (ABPM), a trustee
of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association, a guest
lecturer at NYCPM, the lead clinical director in New York
State for Special Olympics Fit Feet, and an instructor of
clinical orthopedics and rehabilitation at Stony Brook University. She is in private practice in Southampton, NY.
Gina Painter, DPM, is a graduate of Temple University
School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM). She is certified by
ABPM and the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery
(ABFAS). She is immediate-past president of ABPM and
has served on multiple committees including Credentials,
Certification Exam, and Speakers Bureau. In 2018, she
was inducted as fellow faculty into the Royal College of
Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Her term on the
Montana State Board of Medical Examiners began in 2019,
and she is the Montana state delegate to the APMA House
of Delegates. She is in practice with Benefis Foot and Ankle Clinic in Great Falls, MT.

Bronx, NY, where her research focus was on lacrosse injuries of high school-aged females. She was selected for the US
World Cup U-19 team in 2003. She is in private practice in
Southampton, NY, with Dr. Langone.
Elizabeth Daughtry, DPM, is a TUSPM graduate and completed a three-year surgical residency at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, DC. She is certified by ABFAS,
serves as secretary on the executive board of the North Carolina Foot and Ankle Society, and practices in Dunn, NC,
and in Cary, NC, with Piedmont Foot and Ankle Specialists.
Stephanie Hook, DPM, is a graduate of the Ohio College
of Podiatric Medicine (now Kent State University College
of Podiatric Medicine) and completed a PM&S-36 residency at Catholic Health Systems/Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, NY. She is an ABPM diplomate and serves as
sub-chair in Crisis Communication and Audit for the
ABPM Membership Committee. She also serves as a trustee of the New York State Podiatric Medical Association,
chairing the Public Education and Information and Awards
Committees. She is the podiatry division chief at Upstate
University Hospital Community Campus and is in practice
at Syracuse Orthopedic Specialists.
Jennifer Spector, DPM, graduated from TUSPM and
completed a three-year surgical residency at Christiana Care
Health System in Delaware. She is a diplomate of ABFAS
and serves as the associate editor for Podiatry Today. She has
practiced in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. n

Elizabeth Piselli, DPM, is an NYCPM graduate and completed a PMSR/RRA program at Montefiore Medical Center,
