Time to Give

If you are fortunate to have both a successful
practice and time to spend with your family and
friends, it is because you chose a profession that
has been good to you. Success has its rewards
and responsibilities. We all have an obligation and
responsibility to give back to the profession to
make it better for those who follow us. We did
not get here by chance! We got here because of
hard work, effort, and sacrifice by those who came
before us.
As they say, " You get what you give. " Now is the
time to give!
We can all name a variety of reasons not to
give to the PAC right now, but there are even
more reasons to give. Do you make a good living?
Do you want to do better? Are you thankful
that the profession made it possible for you to be
successful and enjoy a good life? Do you want
the profession to continue to thrive and evolve?
Could you ever have imagined the full extent
of your success and great life as it is today back
when you were in school?
Your life as a podiatrist came at a cost to our
past leaders of APMA and pioneers in advocacy.
Men like Drs. Irvin Kanat, Theodore Clarke, and my
father, Earl Kaplan, invested heavily in our future.
We all stand on the shoulders of these past leaders
and others who had vision and passion for this profession.
They made it happen for all of us. We now
have the obligation to pass along the same gift
they gave us to our next generation of podiatrists.

can continue to support APMA's efforts to resolve

* Fix the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule to stop
the endless annual cycle of fee cuts and ensure
fair reimbursement
* End ongoing unnecessary chart review requests
* Physician parity: MD=DO=DPM
* Fix the Medicare Shoe Program
* Resolve long-standing fee discrimination
* End prior authorization
Change is never easy and is not free. These issues
cannot be fixed without your continued support!
So, I ask you now, are you a giver or a taker?
Now is the time to give. Please
