The Darthmouth Institute (TDI) for
Health Policy and Clinical Practice. A
department within the Geisel School
of Medicine at Dartmouth College, this
prestigious research institution offers
an on-campus Master of Public Health
(MPH) program that provides students
with a foundation in health policy and
clinical practice, with specific attention
to public health, clinical/health services
research, and health-care leadership.
The program boasts small class sizes,
internship opportunities within the
field of public health, and the resources
to pursue research with mentorship
from faculty.

The APMA/TDI Public Health Fellowship
was developed by the APMA
Podiatric Population Health Committee
in 2011. The program was established for
the benefit and enrichment of podiatric
physicians with an interest in public
health. Each fellow receives full tuition
benefits and joins the supportive and
accomplished ranks of APMA/TDI
Public Health Fellowship graduates.

The MPH program at TDI explores
the interface between traditional public
health and the US health-care system.
Using an evidence-based approach
focused on health outcomes and methods
of analysis common to public health,
MPH students gain an understanding of
the medical care and public health systems.
With analytic tools of biostatistics,
epidemiology, and qualitative research
methods, students learn to apply methods
of quality improvement to initiate
change, translate research findings into
action, improve care and access to care,
and develop strategies to advance population
health.
