The International Authority on Air System Components A significant milestone in the U.S. drive for energy-efficient commercial buildings was achieved when the International Green Construction Code (IgCC) became the first building code in the world to adopt minimum efficiency levels based on AMCA Standard 205, Energy Classification for Fans. AMCA International Receives A2LA Accreditation Asia AMCA Pte Ltd In October 2011 AMCA announced the formation of a new Asian joint venture at its annual meeting in Poipu, Hawaii. The partnership will be majority-owned by AMCA International, with minority interest held by AFMA, which previously operated a separate logo from AMCA International, Inc. Madam Goh Swee Lee, principal owner of AFMA, was named Executive Director of the new company, called Asia AMCA Pte, Ltd. Madam Goh will report to a local board of directors, which will include two directors appointed by AFMA, and three directors appointed by AMCA, chosen from among its Asian regional membership. Tan Tin Tin, who is Madam Goh’s partner in AFMA, has become Asia AMCA’s Technical Director, supported by Mark Stevens, AMCA’s Deputy Exec and Technical Director in Arlington Heights, Ill. http://tinyurl.com/7ug883p. The laboratory’s fulfillment of the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:2005 means the laboratory meets both the technical competence requirements and management system requirements that are necessary for it to consistently deliver technically valid test results and calibrations. The management system requirements in ISO/IEC 17025 (Section 4) are written in language relevant to laboratory operations and meet the principles of ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems—Requirements and are aligned with its pertinent requirements. AMCA International Has Approved PRI as Third Party Test Lab For AMCA 550 The Air Movement and Control Association (AMCA) announces that on April 1, 2012 AMCA approved PRI Construction Materials Technology LLC as its third-party testing lab for ANSI/AMCA Standard 550.
