the main staircase is the
masterpiece of the residence,
with "the end result making
an artistic, sophisticated and
welcoming statement," says
the owner.
"The five-story carved
and paneled stair was by far
the most challenging and
demanding element of the
project," says Watts. "Not
only was the coordination
of the hand-carved railing
and paneling with the steel
structure, lighting plaster
work, and the other large
millwork pieces technically
challenging but the craft
displayed in this extensive
piece became the defining
standard of the project.
Expanding upward from the
flared balustrade at the main
entrance, the stair reveals
itself layer by layer as you
move through the house."

Ballenger adds that Zepsa's
relationship with the designer
is a positive and ongoing
one, as they have worked on
several projects together.

our last project with Zepsa
Industries," adds Watts.

management, and pushing
the whole team to meet
