New Dual-Acting Pivot
Hinge and Closer
Dutch manufacturer,
FritsJurgens®, has begun
shipping the long-awaited
System M, a state-of-the art
heavy duty double-acting
pivot hinge with closer
function that is entirely
mortised in the door. Like
the company's other hinge
systems, there's nothing
needed in the ceiling or the
floor except for small surfacemounted top and bottom
plates which are essentially

unseen when the door is
in its closed position. The
patented System M offers
adjustable closing speed
and adjustable hydraulic
backcheck function, with
hold positions at 90° and
-90° and continuous closing
from 125° and -125°. It is
compact-just shy of 4-inches
high-and can be mortised
into a minimum 1-1/2" thick
door leaf.
System M's 1100-pound
capacity allows for very tall
and very wide exterior or
interior doors of any material.

Five different System M
models cover a wide range
of door sizes and weights.
FritsJurgens® has developed
a pivot hinge that allows
for all the finish surfaces
on a job to be completed
before the doors are brought
in. System M is especially
useful in retrofit situations
where breaking into the
floor or ceiling means extra
coordination, hassle,
expense, and an ugly closer
plate.

Manufactured from
corrosion-resistant materials
and tested to over one
million cycles, the System M
is maintenance-free and built
to perform beyond the life of
