HGH Hardware Supply,
Inc., based in Birmingham,
Alabama, is now a distributor
of the complete line of
Milesi high-performance
Italian wood coatings. The
new distribution agreement
marks the first time these two
companies have partnered
to provide a complete line
of high-performance, Italian
technology, wood finishing
products to professional
woodworkers, cabinetmakers,
and millwork producers.
HGH Hardware Supply
services customers with five
company locations that
cover Georgia, Alabama,
Tennessee, Mississippi,
Louisiana, and sections of
Florida and Kentucky.
HGH Hardware Supply
offers technical support,
custom color matching, and a
team of technicians to meet
customers' finishing needs
and now will offer the full line
of unique Milesi products,
as well. The Milesi line
includes two-component (2K)
polyurethanes, polyesters,
water-based interior and
exterior finishes, natural look
finishes, high gloss wet look
finishes, UV, stains, and more.
Milesi has produced wood
coatings since 1946 and is
the leading wood coatings
manufacturer in Europe with
proven innovative wood
finish systems sold in more
than 100 countries worldwide
and cutting-edge technology
not commonly found in North
America.

 Roseburg Forest Products
will begin labeling its
composite wood products in
compliance with new federal
formaldehyde emissions
standards no later than April
30, well before the scheduled
effective date of June 1. Title
VI of the Toxic Substances
Control Act (TSCA)
formaldehyde standards
apply to all composite wood
products manufactured in,
imported into, or sold in
the United States. Roseburg
manufactures medium
density fiberboard (MDF),
particleboard and hardwood
plywood, all of which fall
under TSCA Title VI, which
is administered by the
Environmental Protection
Agency.
 While TSCA Title VI may
be new to the industry,
Roseburg has a documented
history of low formaldehyde
emissions at or below
federal requirements. As a
result, the company is well
equipped to accommodate
the rules change and shifting
effective date and meet the
needs of customers. For

Balsakore Products
Expanding
The Balsakore products
from Kerfkore continue to
expand. They are available
in bendable and lightweight
panels.The balsa tree is an
exceptionally fast growing
species that is plantation
grown in Ecuador where
within 7 to 10 years obtain
heights of 60 to 80 feet and
diameters of 12 to 30 inches.
This exceptional fast growing
tree creates a very light
weight wood that is often
considered the strongest
wood for its weight in the
world. The lightweight balsa
wood when used in endgrain configuration provides
an exceptionally strong yet
extremely light core material.
Kerfkore uses this endgrain construction to provide
a core material that is five
times lighter than traditional
composite board products
and up to three times lighter
than most plywood products.
It contains no added
formaldehyde which should
be beneficial to the customer.
The Balsakore lightweight
panel products are available
with different thin face

materials. This balanced
constructed panel results
in a strong stable product
that can be processed as
conventional wood products
yet results in a panel that
is up to 80% less weight
than most panels. Panels are
available in thicknesses from
¾" up to 1 ⅛" using the endgrain core and desired faces.
Thicker panels are possible
with multiple core layers.
Panel size can depend upon
face materials but nominal
4' x 8' up to 5' x 12' sizes are
available. Bendable balsa
panel products are available
in Kerfkore, Timberflex and
Flexboard product lines
