says the wood laminate
check-in desks are
particularly noteworthy. The
desks incorporate laminate,
an aluminum trim system
with phenolic resin panels
and ready-to-go hardware.
"The woodworking firm did
an excellent job constructing
and installing various
surfacing changes of plane,
multiple material surfaces,
aluminum edges, trim and
hardware," she explains.

"The natural
characteristics of the warm
paneling harmonizes with
the finish palette's warm
and cool colors, textures
and patterns," notes Cynthia
Jones Miller, AFMS interior
design director. "Consistent
design detailing at clinic
check-in desks are accented
with sandy-toned laminate
panels. Panels at each desk
are easily identified, while
accentuating departmental
destination points."
The most notable
casework in the project,
she adds, is the primary
reception/information
desk, serving as the "focal
point/first impression when
entering the lobby."
