The new Legacy Ballroom pulls from that material scheme. Sapele clad columns rise to a ceiling sculpted to be reminiscent of a forest canopy. At the entry points a deep wedge-shaped portal conveys a sense of arrival. The new ballroom shares a pre-function space with the existing event center where angular shaped sculptural column forms with wood grains running at bases into exterior walls. In the addition, these two-sided forms were completed with third and fourth sides. The wood matches in tone and grain and looks as if the piece had been built at one time. SAPELE 34 I designsolutions fall 2020 Tight Team "Lange was a great partner for us," say the designers. "We walked through all the woodwork items that we were considering and developing details. They came with some great ideas for how we could develop these details, how we could hang different panels or different hardware and produced some mockups of the screen wall designs and spa feature wall. They continued working with us throughout the construction process to ensure our design vision was executed beautifully." Lange says the working relationship was excellent. "We met with the team on a weekly basis, reviewing the outline of all the series of drawings and giving a status on shop drawings, finishes, field verification and material availability, as well as answering any questions that arose."
