Challenges
Two specific challenges
included climate control over
the 18-month construction
buildout and maintaining
the humidity levels for
construction materials,
notes Rieske. " Another was
the levelness of the floor
slabs and the challenges in
installing woodwork base
and paneling with a threeinch
variable across the
floor plate. The design and
installation of the wet bar
on the client facing floor,
banquette seating and fabric
panel systems throughout the
space was also challenging. "
The most intricate and
difficult part of the project
was the veneer lay up on
the bar, says Lange. The
veneer had to match so
the flow of the pattern was
seamless. " The door frames
were difficult due to the
assembly and the need to
keep consistency in the color.
The technical assistance that
Lange Bros. provided was
the detail of the design to
allow for wood movement
and matching of grains. We
also helped in the design of
the door frames to make sure
they could be transferred in
an elevator minimizing field
assembly. We also helped
design the mockup of the

fabric panels and laying
out of the panels. Lange
Bros. supplied the project
team with status updates,
material lead times and when
decisions had to be made. "
Excellent
Communication

the general contractor did an
amazing job communicating
with each other, the client
and the architects, says
Rieske. " Meeting expectations
was top of mind for both
firms. There is an attention to
detail specific to craftsmanship,
communication and
schedule that are important to
both firms. "

worked carefully with us
to create the environment
we were looking for, and
manufactured the woodwork
with great attention to detail. "

with the architect/designer
went very well, echoes Lange.

goals, and consistency for
which the owner was looking. "
Success of the finished
project is exemplified by it
winning a Milwaukee Business
Journal Coolest Office Award in
the summer of 2020.
