Markal
From a simple but brilliant idea - putting paint into a convenient hand-held marker to an array of hundreds of products, Markal® has led the way in developing industrial identification technology for over 78 years. With the development of unique, specialty marking products that meet demanding industrial applications, the Markal name has become the leader in the industries they serve. Markal is a performance-based company; performance in the products we manufacture; in the service to our customers; and in our people, who are our most important resource. Our company's success has been founded on the belief that first and foremost we listen to our customers. Once we determine their future needs, then we can develop high performance products that meet or exceed those needs. We continue to make extensive investments in new equipment and manufacturing processes and in new product research to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers. It is with this commitment to performance in mind that we have continued to introduce new and innovative products to the welding and metal fabricating industry. When working with metal surfaces that may be either wet or oily, where many other markers may fail, the new PRO-LINE® WP and HP liquid paint markers continue to perform and help to eliminate rework or wasteful downtime. To answer the need of many fabricators working with stainless steel or in sensitive environments that may require a nuclear, military, or corrosion resistance specification, we have recently introduced our Cerified Valve Action® Paint Marker and Certified Thermomelt®, the industry’s only line of pre-certified markers and temperature indicators that offer a full analysis and certificate of compliance. To meet the growing demands of the modern

Miller / Hobart Brothers
Providing Welding Solutions Worldwide…Today and Tomorrow
From helping to address new welding challenges in the energy sector to introducing technology that improves productivity in manufacturing facilities, Miller Electric Mfg. Co. and Hobart Brothers Co. are working together to bring integrated welding solutions to industries worldwide. Headquartered in Appleton, Wisconsin, USA, Miller is a leading worldwide manufacturer of arc welding and cutting equipment. Our company is wholly owned by Illinois Tool Works (Glenview, Illinois; NYSE: ITW) and maintains its global leadership by setting the industry standard for reliability, quality, and responsiveness. Also wholly owned by ITW, Hobart Brothers (Troy, Ohio, USA) manufactures premium welding filler metals — tubular wires, solid wires, and stick electrodes — including aluminum, stainless steel, low alloy, and mild steel product lines. Our engineers designed each with characteristics that help improve quality, reduce non-value added activities, and decrease downtime. Miller and Hobart Brothers work closely together to develop integrated solutions that enhance welding performance in emerging market segments, including heavy equipment manufacturing, shipbuilding, onshore transmission pipeline, and offshore (oil/energy) construction. Our companies’ goal is to provide customers with welding equipment and filler metals that address the key issues common in industries across the globe: increasing productivity, improving quality, reducing costs, and simplifying product training and use.

At Miller and Hobart Brothers, we make it a top priority to stand by our customers as a global partner and provide the best technical leadership in the industry. We have offices around the world, as well as United States-based research labs and technical centers staffed by experts to provide operational and educational support. Both of our companies work closely with distributors and end users worldwide to gain a better understanding of their needs and to develop innovative welding solutions for them, many of which we’ve patented. We spend countless hours in the field — from deep within shipyards to a pipeline’s right-of-way, on the manufacturing plant floor and more — to develop optimized equipment, accessory, and filler metal solutions for each application. And whether it’s gathering responses to steer product development or creating filler metals to meet the demands of welding new high-strength or exotic materials, we can be counted on at every level of the welding operation. Miller and Hobart Brothers understand that welding is a competitive business. No matter the industry, we offer unmatched product innovation, along with a partnership that can be trusted today and in the future. Nissen
A Look Back at 90 Years of Marking Experience and Innovation
In 1923, as an unpaid employee at Vanity Fair Hosiery Mills in Reading, Pa., John P. Nissen, Jr., realized the company was having a problem with their name and logo disappearing from the stockings. This caused warranty problems for Vanity Fair. To address this issue, John Nissen created an indelible ink to mark the stockings. From this first invention, the John P Nissen Jr. Company was founded. Quickly realizing that much of the textile and metal industries were overseas, the company quickly focused on the international market and has been exporting its products since 1927, with its first internationally registered trademark
