Stay up to date on City of Baytown projects
Hearing the voice of the community is important to leaders
and staff, which is why Baytown Engage was created. The
online platform allows public input to be sent to elected
officials and City staff. It is accessible to everyone who
lives, works, or visits Baytown, as well as people who own
property or a business here.
On the Baytown Engage website, community
stakeholders can learn about various projects going on
around the city, such as street projects, neighborhood
improvement programs, public art projects, and others.
The site is easy to navigate and can be translated to more
than 50 languages. To find a list of current projects that
need your feedback, visit baytownengage.com.
Another important function of the Baytown's
Community Engagement team is to educate community
members on the inner workings of the City government
that serves them. They accomplish this hefty task through
the Baytown Civic Academy. Civic Academy participants
will meet City employees from a variety of departments
and go behind the scenes to see their local government
in action. For more information on the program or to

JOIN THE BAYTOWN POLICE ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Be the voice that helps create a better Baytown
The Baytown Police Department works hard to keep our
city safe, but it takes everyone in the community to help. It
all begins with building better relationships, while gaining
trust between officers and residents.
The Baytown Police Advisory Committee (BPAC)
was created one year ago and evolved from an informal
committee, formed by Mayor Capetillo, to improve
those relationships. With an overwhelming interest from
residents, the City Council formally created the committee.
The volunteer group consists of citizens and police
officers, representing our community's diversity. It allows a
forum to discuss challenges while building trust and respect
between residents and the Baytown Police Department.
While this advisory board does not provide oversight
of the police department, it does meet with City Council
once a quarter to report its recommendations.
Be the voice that helps create a better Baytown. The
committee meets the fourth Tuesday of every month at
6:00 PM in the City Council Chambers. Members serve
two-year terms and are appointed by the Mayor and City
