Daniel J. McCormack
BISA President

During our recent gathering of industry colleagues at the
2017 BISA Annual Convention, I marked the completion of
the first of my two years as your BISA president. The past
12 months have brought forth significant change and
transition within our country. As I have observed the impact
of these changes on our business, I am reminded of the
importance of providing opportunities for new voices to
serve in leadership positions. BISA places a high value on
introducing fresh perspectives to the governance of our
association. As such, I welcome the new board officers and
directors (noted with asterisk at left) who stepped into their
roles at the convention.

While it is my honor to serve BISA as president, I understand the importance of providing opportunities for new voices in leadership. I
will be working closely with Jim Nonnengard over the next year to prepare him
for his turn as BISA president in 2018.
Each year, BISA hosts the premier event and one of the largest gatherings of securities professionals in the country. This year's BISA Annual Convention showcased
impactful keynote sessions addressing industry issues facing our members and an
education lineup focused on delivering relevant, meaningful information. A variety
of networking events provided attendees with the opportunity to connect with
peers across the industry. The convention could not have been successful without
the generous support of exhibitors and sponsors as well as engaged attendees
who join us each year. Mark your calendars for March 7-9, 2018, and plan to attend the annual convention back in Hollywood, Florida.
I am pleased to announce the return of the BISA CEO Retreat, June 7-9, 2017, at
The University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Chicago, IL. The 2017 CEO
Retreat, designed for top CEOs of financial institutions in the bank insurance and
securities industry, will build upon the successful launch of the event in 2016.
Attendees of the 2017 CEO Retreat will experience abundant time for networking
and peer-learning in an interactive and academic environment. The invitation-only
event is designed to be the premier financial services industry event by providing
high-value information, education and exclusive networking opportunities to select
industry CEOs.
The BISA Board of Directors strives to provide our community with valuable,
timely and relevant information. We also seek to be the go-to source for industry thought leadership. It is with these goals in mind that BISA has undertaken
efforts to revitalize and enhance its content offerings and the channels in which
that content is shared. The first step in this process was to launch a comprehensive online hub featuring industry news, commentary, feature articles, as well as
regulatory and compliance updates. Please visit the hub at www.bisanet.org. BISA
also is developing a larger social media presence to share information with you.
Watch for communications from BISA throughout the year for further updates on
this initiative.
I look forward to sharing more exciting updates in upcoming issues of this magazine. ▲
