venues will bring out your
Southern side.
Following a major renovation, SweetWater
Brewing Company opened a dog-friendly patio
and lawn in September 2019. The patio and
its taproom are available for private events on
Mondays and Tuesdays for as many as 200 guests
seated or 600 reception style. The patio includes
picnic tables, Adirondack chairs, and drinking
games. The brewery also can hold private events
seven days a week for as many as 300 guests
reception style in the Woodlands room, and receptions for 450 guests in the Reel Room. Along with
beer, the venue has a food menu that includes
burgers, sandwiches, and upscale bar snacks. (195

1 Reformation Brewery opened a new
location in Canton in May 2019. Located at the
Mill on Etowah, the 20,000-square-foot venue
serves as the brewery's main production facility
and warehouse, and it offers a public taproom and
private event space. The venue can hold receptionstyle events for 100 guests, with the option to add
beer packages. It also is available for semiprivate

Wood's Chapel BBQ opened in Summerhill
in June 2019. Named after one of the first
churches in Summerhill, the restaurant is owned
by the team behind General Muir and specializes in barbecue plates, sandwiches, meats by
the pound, and tacos. The venue includes a
5,264-square-foot interior that seats 90 guests
and a 5,000-square-foot patio that seats 120
guests. For private events, the restaurant offers
full buyouts for more than 250 people reception
style and has a private dining room that seats
50 people. The restaurant also offers a special

Steady Hand Beer Co. had a soft opening in
February 2019 and a grand opening party in early
March. The 14,000-square-foot brewery, located
on Ellsworth Industrial Boulevard in Westside, is
owned by brothers Brian and Kevin Sullivan and
has a 30-barrel brewhouse. The taproom, which has
24 taps, holds as many as 250 guests for receptions
and is available for full buyouts. For smaller events,
the venue has a semiprivate lounge space that holds
around 35 guests with audiovisual capabilities,
along with a game area that holds as many as

All-day breakfast restaurant Pancake Social
opened at Ponce City Market in March 2019.
Helmed by chef Anne Quatrano, the restaurant offers seven types of sweet and savory
pancakes, along with a selection of burgers
and sandwiches. The 2,950-square-foot
restaurant seats 80 guests and is available

Queen of Cream (queenofcream.com)
whips up made-from-scratch ice cream in
inventive flavors like sprinkle cookie and
honeycomb. The Atlanta-based company
is offering sundae bars for private events,
serving up four flavors of ice cream with
toppings like hot fudge, salted caramel,
and whipped cream. The sundae bar starts
at $450 for a minimum of 70 guests, with

Consider these activities for highimpact teambuilding.
Sea Island resort unveiled its 1 Golf Performance
Center at the Sea Island Golf Club in March 2019.
The 17,000-square-foot facility has six instruction and
club-fitting bays; a putting studio designed by instructor Phil Kenyon; a golf club workshop; and a gym
with locker rooms. For meetings, the performance
center has a 10-seat boardroom. The entire resort

has 42,000 square feet of indoor meeting space
that include the Cloister Ballroom, which holds
600 guests for receptions, and Rainbow Island,
which holds 500 guests for receptions. The destination resort is about a five-hour drive from Atlanta.

The Void, which offers virtual-reality experiences, opened at the Battery Atlanta in September
2019. For groups, the venue offers VR experiences
including Star Wars: Secrets of the empire and Ralph
Breaks VR. The experiences include virtual-reality
headsets, body tracking suits, and camera rigs.
The venue has a 1,300-square-foot event space
that holds 188 people standing, and the entire
venue can hold about 530 guests for reception-style
