We are now Life Happens, a nonprofit organization. Until now, you may have known us as the LIFE Foundation. And when it comes to our ongoing mission of inspiring and educating the public to take personal financial responsibility through the use of life insurance and related products, we haven't changed or wavered in our commitment. However, under the guidance of the Life Happens Board of Directors (of which I am chair) and with feedback from extensive interviews conducted with industry 20 perspectives MAY/JUNE 2014 professionals like you, it became clear that it was time to align ourselves and our name with how we are known best: Life Happens. The Life Happens name and brand link us with our strongest assets-the educational website and our socialmedia properties. These have become trusted sources of unbiased, third-party insurance information not only for consumers to use, but for you, as well as your agents and advisors, to share with their clients and prospects. As part of the transformation, Life Happens has done a complete redesign of its website,, making it easier for consumers to get the information they are seeking and understand how to get the coverage they need. Resources That Work Life Happens is committed to not just educating consumers about their insurance needs, but to helping them take that next step and get coverage. It does this by helping consumers connect on an emotional level-if consumers understand what insurance does, not just what it is, they are more likely to get the coverage they need. Enter Real Life Stories videos. These are real stories of real people who've benefitted from life, disability and long-term care insurance. Their stories are moving and motivating. How motivating? A consumer who watched one of Life Happens' Real Life Stories videos was 94% more likely to consider purchasing insurance coverage than a consumer who had not seen the video, according to an independent survey conducted last May. Interestingly, these stories are also motivating for the agent community as well. When agents see these videos and the families that are saved from financial devastation, it reminds them of why they entered the business and why they need to keep reaching out every day to those in their community about their needs for life, disability, and long-term care insurance. These Real Life Stories videos, the flyers that accompany them, along with a wide range of educational marketing resources that Life Happens creates are available for you to use and distribute with the agents you work with.
