THE THE FUTURE OF BY JEAN FEINGOLD Over the course of many months last year, and with the assistance of several outside consultants and an in depth survey of membership, the NAILBA Board of Directors developed a new three-year Strategic Plan for the organization. The new Strategic Plan, which was implemented this month, includes ambitious objectives that will allow NAILBA to: ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● ●● increase educational offerings, expand Annual Meeting content, expand the Agency Successor Networking Group's purpose, expand and strengthen online opportunities for information exchange, strengthen and improve the working relationship between NAILBA and the Life Brokerage Technology Committee, and NAILBA and ACORD, maintain NAILBA as "the voice of independent distribution" and maintain and continue to develop industry partnerships for the benefit of the industry. "THIS new plan gives NAILBA's organization, volunteer leadership, and staff a framework for developing and offering products and services that will allow us to demonstrate our value and to maintain our relevance to our members," noted NAILBA CEO Jack Chiasson. "We hear from our members repeatedly that the industry is changing and what they need in order to remain successful within the industry is changing. Our leadership realized doing the same things we have always done 12 perspectives JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2015 no longer fully meets those needs, so we have had to take a long hard look at WHAT we do and HOW we do it. Following a 'deepdive' examination of what our members truly wanted from NAILBA, we've been able to eliminate some things, re-prioritize others, and introduce new things in order to fulfill our primary mission."
