However, purchasing brand new equipment every time technology improves isn’t an option for many companies, so they look for partners who can upgrade and refurbish their older equipment to keep them on the leading edge of the industry. For almost 15 years, Compressor and Engine Service LLC (CESCO) has been one of those partners. A subsidiary of Mississippi-based oil and gas operating company Tellus Operating Group, CESCO provides oilfield gas compressors, natural gas industrial engines and power units, oilfield pump packages and generators for the oil and gas industry. Although Tellus is CESCO’s biggest customer, the company also services a wide array of small- to medium-sized independent operators throughout Mississippi. The company also provides service to equipment, with a concentration on refurbishing and upgrading older equipment. “What we’re trying to do is take these older packages, upgrading them and improving their capabilities,” Technical Director John Gibson explains. Even though CESCO faces a lot of competition these days, the company is not worried.
