if the dog doesn’t. It’s an important skill to have. Serpentine #2 and #3 and send the dog to the #4 weave poles. Do a front cross at #4 to #5 and send to the tunnel. While the dog is in the tunnel get in position to do a front cross on the takeoff side of #7. Wrap #8 to the left and do a post turn so that the dog remains on your right. Keep the dog on your right for #9 and #10, and do a front cross, finishing with #11 on your left. I hope the dog didn’t duck into the tunnel on the way to #11. on your right side and not duck in front of or behind you into the tunnel. I often see handlers shaping a tunnel entrance like this, which only adds extra yardage. Pick the dog up out of the tunnel on your right and send to the takeoff side of #4. Nancy Gyes wrote an article on how to teach this skill for CR September 2011. When the dog commits to #4, get in position to do a rear cross at #5 and again at #6. Support the weave poles and try to keep the dog on your right for the rest of the exercise. It may be a little trickier than putting in a front cross as you did in Figure 9. It’s all fun and you will see where you need to practice. D
