The handler is completely still and
ready to give the collar cue.

Within the first 10 click/rewards, the dog
should be moving more than 12 inches
upon the applied cue.
The dog should be enthusiastically responding the moment the collar cue
is applied and the amount of pressure
needed should decrease to basic contact directional pressure.
Initially in Step 2 only strive for the dog
to move around 6 inches to 1 foot with
your new cue.

Notice how light the pressure is on
the leash to apply the cue.

Step 2 is complete when the dog can
be easily cued with very light collar cue
pressure in four different directions-
forward, backward, sideways-all with
your feet stationary and your hands still.
