Part of the fun of the game is to watch the lengths to which
handlers are prepared to bend the rules you have set for them;
looking at the sequence for a few seconds before they start,
taking too long to repeat the sequence back to you, etc. It's
up to you how strict you want to be about the rules when you
play the game.
Some variations I have used:
* Limit the time the handler has to memorise and
visualise the sequence(s).
* Time and record the runs to add to the competitive
nature of the game.
* Get handlers in a group to compete against each other
and the clock.
* Randomise the numbers of the obstacles as well as
the sequences.
* Add in a three jump lead out before the sequence
starts, etc.

The End Game
Finally and appropriately there is The End Game and it goes
like this. Set up a sequence of numbered obstacles (your
choice as to whether these are just jumps or include contacts,
etc.). This sequence will be the start point of the game and
will stay the same for everyone. At the end of the sequence we
introduce three options to complete the exercise: option A, B,
or C. These options can include as many or as few obstacles
as you wish.

The aim is for the handler to walk the course work out how
they would handle each of the three options at the end of the
starting sequence. Once a handler has started their run, the
instructor will shout out an option to the handler as they approach a given point during the starting sequence.

The End Game also develops the handler's ability to think
on their feet. The handler will need to learn to adjust their
handling approach (at the end of the start sequence) to accommodate the option they have been given to complete the
course (A, B, or C).

In the example course in Figure 3, the instructor should
probably be telling the handler which option they are going
for before the dog starts the weaves so they can adjust their
handling position at the start of the weaves or at the exit.
You can, of course, try this game using a variation of different
course designs. Use your imagination!
So, enjoy these ideas for some fun games with a serious intent:
