Another view of Scoop finding the weaves instead of the tunnel. Now I ask Scoop to do the tunnel and he has to pass through the first two poles to get to it. Now I ask Scoop to weave. This good boy gets a reward for every set of weaves. I hope you can see how important the rewards are to your dog for completing the weaves independently of you. If during any of this training your dog starts skipping out of the weaves or missing entries, stop training discrimination and go back to working on entries and exits for a couple sessions before you bring the tunnels and jumps back into close proximity. While these games do test and challenge your dog's weave skills, the test should not be started until your dog fully understands weaves, at least four of them anyway. Next month I will present some training ideas using jumps and weaves, as well as some fun exercises which will test both your entry and exit prowess!
