You will need to plan your drills to include how you will move forward to the target and still allow the dog to get there ahead of you. Don't cut the corner off your handler path and arrive at the last couple of jumps before your dog if you are working on sending your dog forward. * Do, however, continue some forward motion and move to the target area to tug and play with your dog or have a party at the location of the target. Try to make your motion on the finish line similar to how you would handle the last few obstacles on a real course where you are running out of the ring with your dog. 11
