The structure plays solids against voids with perimeter concrete walls and lightweight steel framing that allows for large glazed areas to capitalize on city views. The garage and main entrance are located on the first level, and a stair leads to an open dining area on the second floor, which features a dramatic custom light fixture. A double kitchen accommodates everyday use and allows the owners to cook gourmet meals while entertaining guests. On the garden level is a double-height living area that connects the solarium and swimming pool. Residence-Single Family Project House on the Pacific Coast Where Pacific Coast of Mexico Designer Bernardi + Peschard Arquitectura The design of a beach residence along Mexico's Pacific Coast both responds to the needs of a large family while connecting with its coastal surroundings. A series of independent pavilions, which function like beach villas, surround a central volume that contains the living and dining rooms. That space features a 33-foot-high palapa, a traditional Mexican shelter with a thatched roof, supported by a Parota wood structure. Bedrooms are housed within a series of blocks made with natural rock. contract
