TOUR
OF GRAND TOURING AUTOMOBILES

Executives from five
ultraluxury brands were
on hand for the opening of Grand Touring
Automobiles' new location near downtown
Toronto, including
Grand Touring CEO Paul Cummings with Bugatti of
Americas COO Maurizio Parlato, and Aston Martin
Chief Sales Officer Christian Marti, below left.
The store, which sells Jaguar, Land Rover, Aston

Martin, Bentley, Bugatti,
Lamborghini and RollsRoyce vehicles, will allow
Grand Touring to sell more
vehicles as ultraluxury sales
soar in the Toronto market,
Cummings said. Each brand
has its own distinct showroom in the facility, which
Cummings said is outfitted with numerous electric
charging stations to accommodate the brands'
long-term electrification plans.

Hike in minimum hourly rate
will likely have a ripple effect
for higher-paid workers
By JOHN IRWIN
TORONTO BUREAU

THE RISE IN ONTARIO'S MINIMUM WAGE
to $15 per hour could put pressure on the
province's auto suppliers to issue a corresponding raise for its workers.
Ontario's minimum wage rose this year to
$14 per hour from $11.60 per hour at the end
of 2017, giving the province the highest minimum wage in the country. It will rise to $15
per hour in 2019, matching a planned increase
in Alberta.
The increase, which incoming Progressive
Conservative premier-designate Doug Ford
has pledged to freeze at $14, could have an
impact at many of Ontario's auto suppliers,
where some workers' wages are near the new
minimum wage.
"There's no doubt some workers are going

SELKIRK, MAN. - ONE YEAR IN
as Manitoba's first Tuscany truck
dealer, Steeltown Ford has sold six
of the high-end modified Shelby
F-150/F-250 pickups and F-150 Shelby
sports trucks. And it aims to sell
more in 2018, said dealership sales
rep Shawn Trudeau. Tuscany is Ford
Motor Co.'s longest-running specialty-vehicle manufacturer, turning out
F-150 Shelby, FTX, Black Ops and
Tonka versions of the F-150 that start

just shy of $100,000 for 5.0-litre-V-8
models, running to about $138,000 for
the 2018 755-horsepower Shelby.
Many of Steeltown's customers
can afford to buy high-end sports
cars, Trudeau said, "but they also
want to tow things, take it to the cottage and drive it all year around."
The trucks are "a good fit for our climate."
He said that unlike performance
and ride modifications made to Ford
