People On the Move NYT Co. picks BBC chief as its next CEO The New York Times Co. has named Mark Thompson, outgoing director general of the Thompson British Broadcasting Corp., as its next president-CEO. Thompson is expected to take charge in November, succeeding Janet Robinson, who resigned from the Times Co. last December. As director general of the BBC for the past eight years, Thompson supervised BBC Worldwide, the commercial unit of the BBC, which has annual revenue of about $1.5 billion. He has also PEOPLE overseen the BBC’s services across television, radio and online venues. He most recently led the BBC’s coverage of the London Summer Olympics. In her new position, she will oversee AOL’s global communications strategy, including internal and external communications, social media and corporate social. Prometheus Global names Mattison CEO Prometheus Global Media, which publishes Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter, has Mattison named Guggenheim Partners Senior Managing Director Dottie Mattison CEO of the company. (Guggen- Summit Business Media appoints Marder CFO Summit Business Media, a b-to-b media company that covers the insurance and financial services markets, has named Adam Marder exec VPCFO. He succeeds to duties formerly held by Tom Flynn, whose title was CFO-COO. Marder was most recently VPgeneral manager of sales at 2012 Media Business magazine’s complete, comprehensive coverage of business-to-business publishing makes it a must-read for industry leaders in companies large and small.
