Stach named publisher of ‘Business Insurance’
Crain Communications Inc. announced that Mark Stach has been named publisher and general manager, strategic business media, at Stach Business Insurance. Stach succeeds Martin J. Ross III as publisher. In August, Ross was named to the new position of VPmanaging director of events and business development. Stach was previously global COO-consulting at Hewitt Associates, which was acquired by Aon Corp. in October. He was an executive at Orbitz Worldwide from 2004 to 2007. Powers tapped as ‘Bloomberg Businessweek’ managing editor
Bloomberg Businessweek announced that Kristin Powers has been named managing editor. Powers joins the publication from Miramax/Weinstein Books, where she was associate publisher. Powers will report to Editor Josh Tyrangiel. She will be on the magazine’s senior management team along with Deputy Editor Eric Pooley and Executive Editor Ellen Pollock.
‘Variety’ announces several editorial staff changes
In the wake of the ouster of Leo Wolinsky as editor of Daily Variety, Reed Business Information’s Variety announced that Brian Cochrane and Cynthia Littleton will oversee news for Daily Variety in print and on the Web. They will share the title of deputy editor. Cochrane was assistant managing editor of Variety’s weekly edition. Littleton was deputy editor of Variety.
